Crystal Springs Reservoir, California, August 2011

The Crystal Springs Reservoir always reminds me of a wilderness, although it is located right next to the very busy Highway 280.

Pacifica, California, June 2010

I was looking through some pictures I took last year and found this one. Far north you can see Mount Tamalpaias rising up above the Marin coastline.

Shadowplay

Two more shadow shots. Went shooting with my friend Ken and clowned around with the shadows and road markings.

Boy Fascinated With Fish, Pacifica, California, July 2011

Whenever I got the Pacifica Pier I see something interesting. Yesterday, I saw this little boy examining this slippery fish with full concentration and attention. Both, boy and fish, are pursing their lips!  :-)

Pelican with an Itch, Pacifica, California, June 2011

The pelicans here aren't doing well. There is not enough fish and the birds suffer from hunger and many starve. This pelican was sitting on the pier, letting people get close, which usually never happens here. Someone fed the poor guy a large fish, which it ate. The bird was very lethargic and barely moved for three hours. Eventually the pelican became a bit more animated, and even scratched itself. Finally it took off and flew towards the south.
